~ St. Jude Children's Hospital ~
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the world's premier center for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. Since 1962 when the hospital opened, thousands of children from all 50 states and from around the world have been treated at St. Jude. Thousands more worldwide have benefited from research that St. Jude freely shares with the global medical community. Families never pay for treatment that is not covered by insurance. No child is denied treatment because of a family's inabillity to pay.
*Net proceeds generalted by this event will allow St. Jude's physicians and scientists to continue pioneering treatments that have helped pursh the overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today. The survival rate for the most common form of childhood cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, has risen from just 4 percent in 1962 to 94 percent today.
